Genichesk ( Ukrainian Genichesk ) is the final passenger-and-freight railway station of the Zaporizhzhya Directorate of the Dnieper Railway on a branch of the Zaporozhye - Novoalekseevka trunk line. The station is located in the city of the same name in the Kherson region , 14 km from the station Novoalekseevka .

History
The station was electrified with direct current (= 3 kV) in 1986 as part of the Novoalekseevka – Genichesk line [2] .
Since 2015, the station has undergone reconstruction to increase its throughput, since in the near future it is the terminal station for long-distance trains running from the Novoalekseevka station [3] [4] [5] .
As of June 2016, new convenient parking spaces have been built for automobile transport. A new service area has been opened at the station, a platform No. 3 and additional ways for maneuvering railway transport have been built.
During the holiday season of 2016, an increase in the number of up to ten passenger trains was foreseen [6] .
Passenger service
From June 16 to September 18, 2016, the UZHSK daily regional high-speed train EJ 675 Intercity + "No. 729/730 with the Kharkov - Genichesk [7] [8] link ran. From 06/15/2017, train movement resumes, possibly with different rolling stock.
From March 21, 2017 until the start of the summer season, due to a decrease in passenger traffic, the movement of railway transport to the Genichesk station was temporarily suspended, trains reached the Novoalekseevka station [9] . From mid-June 2017, traffic resumes, as of May 24, 2017, train tickets for dates from 06/11/2017 - 06/15/2017 are open, depending on the direction
In summer, the commuter electric trains ER2T , EPL2T (occasionally ER1 ) from Zaporozhye , the Dnieper and Krivoy Rog [10] run to the Genichesk station in summer.
