Crater Description
The closest neighbors of Sampson Crater are McDonald Crater in the west-north-west; Landsteiner Crater in the northeast and Timoharis Crater in the southeast. Grebau ridge is located east of the crater; in the south-south-west - Higazi ridge [1] . The selenographic coordinates of the center of the crater are , diameter 1.8 km [2] , depth 130 m [3] .
Sampson Crater has a circular bowl shape and is practically not destroyed. Shaft with a clearly defined sharp edge, smooth inner slope with high albedo and dark radial stripes. The shaft height above the surrounding area reaches 40 m [3] , the volume of the crater is approximately 0.04 km³ [3] . According to morphological characteristics, the crater belongs to the ALC type (according to the name of a typical representative of this class - Al-Battani Crater C ).
