Sports career
Trained at Salvaterino Coletta.
Was the 10-time champion of Italy in race walking:
- once at a distance of 5 km (1995),
- once at a distance of 10 km (1991),
- four times - for 20 km (1992, 1995, 2000, 2002)
- four times - at 3000 m indoors (1991, 1994, 2001, 2002).
As part of the national team participated in six world championships. Won the world championship in Athens (1997) and twice in the continental championships: in Split (1990) and Budapest (1998) at a distance of 10 km, silver medalist of the European Championship in Helsinki (1994) in the same discipline. Speaking indoors, she won the continental championship in Paris (1994) and was the bronze medalist in the Scottish Glasgow (1990) at a distance of 3 km.
Three times she took part in the summer Olympics: in Barcelona (1992), in Atlanta (1996) and in Sydney (2000) in side-by-side competitions for 10 and 20 km.
She also won the 10th km Summer Universiade in Fukuoka and the European Cup in A Coruña at the same distance.
At the end of her career, she became a sports adviser in her hometown of Joyoza-Marea. In 1998 she starred in the film "Partners" of the Italian director Emanuela Piovano.
