Vladimir Markovich Magidov ( March 22, 1938 - November 24, 2015 ) is a Russian historian. Doctor of Historical Sciences, Honored Professor of the Russian State University for the Humanities (2013) [1] . Member of the Board of the Central Council of the Russian Society of Archive Historians , President of the National Association of Audiovisual Archives, Full Member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences and the Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio.

Content
Biography
In 1958 he entered the history department of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov , which he graduated in 1963 . In 1993 he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic "Film and photo documents: problems of historiography, archival studies and source studies." [2] Professor since 1997 .
From 1984 to 2015, he conducted educational and scientific activities at the Moscow Historical and Archival Institute , now the Historical and Archival Institute of the Russian State Humanitarian University . He taught fundamental courses in historiography , source studies and archival studies of audiovisual documents and visual anthropology . He participated in the creation of the faculty of technotronic archives and documents of the Historical Archive Institute of the Russian State Humanitarian University, where he headed the department of audiovisual documents and archives.
