Sports Biography
Anastasia began to engage in swimming in 2001 under the guidance of her mother, Elena Krapivina. Then she trained under the leadership of Lydia Gennadyevna Vlasevskaya [1] . In 2010, Krapivina became the bronze medalist of the European Junior Championship. At the youth level, Krapivina became the most successful in her career in 2012, when she won two silver medals at the Junior World Championships in Canadian Wellland, and also became the European champion at a distance of 7.5 km and the second in the team race.
Already in 2011, 16-year-old Krapivina won her first gold in the national championships, taking first place in the team race, she also won 10 km bronze. In 2012, 18-year-old Krapivina again became the champion of Russia in the team race, adding to this a victory at a distance of 5 km [2] . In 2014, Anastasia won the gold of the national championship in swimming for 10 km. In 2015, Anastasia accounted for two gold and one silver medal of the Russian championship.
At the 2015 World Championships in Kazan, Krapivina became the only representative of Russia to qualify for the Games in Rio de Janeiro, taking 5th place in the Olympic 10-kilometer distance [3] . Also at this championship, Anastasia became the 8th in the 5 km race and the 10th in the team race.
Krapivina also competes in an indoor pool. In 2013, Anastasia became the winner of the Russian Cup at a distance of 800 meters freestyle, also the second at 1,500 meters [4] . In 2015, she became the winner of the Salnikov Cup at the 800-meter freestyle.
Doping
- On October 21, 2013, it was announced that Anastasia Krapivina was suspended for 5 months for consuming methylhexaneamine [5] . The period of ineligibility began on April 30, 2013 [6] .
