Historical Review is an organ of the Historical Society at St. Petersburg University .
It was published in 1888-1916 in the form of a collection, indefinitely, edited by the chairman of the Society, Professor N. I. Kareev . A total of 21 volumes were published.
The collection consists of two sections: the first published articles and studies on Russian and world history, the history of law, the philosophy of history, etc., as well as criticism, bibliography, and a scientific chronicle. The bibliography department especially highlights the thoroughly compiled by A. I. Braudo literature reviews on Russian history (vols. II and III, for 1888-1890). In the first section, you can also find articles on the development of the issue of teaching history in secondary schools.
The second section contains the minutes and information relating to the current affairs of the Company.
The employees were A. S. Lappo-Danilevsky , V. I. Semevsky , A. E. Presnyakov and others.
The 20th volume of the collection contains a bibliographic index to the entire publication.
