Biography
Born in Boston. In 1949, he received a bachelor's degree in industrial management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology . In 1955, received a master's degree in economics from Oxford University .
In 1992, Henry Rowan, then the owner of a smelter manufacturing company [3] , donated $ 100 million to Glassborough State College , the largest single donation to a public institution in the history of American philanthropy. The college was named in his honor, and in 1997 received the status of a university [4] and received the name of its benefactor [5] [6] . He died in 2015, November 12, in Menlo Park, California.
