PDP-7 in Oslo , Norway
PDP-7 is a mini-computer manufactured by Digital Equipment Corporation . Appearing in 1965 , the first to use Flip Chip technology. The cost of the computer was 72 thousand dollars. It was a cheap but powerful computer for its time. PDP-7 was the third computer in the line of 18-bit machines, using almost the same command system as PDP-4 , as well as PDP-9 .
In 1969, Ken Thompson wrote the first version of UNIX in the PDP-7 assembly language, later called Unics (later renamed UNIX).
