Batenin, Vyacheslav Mikhailovich

Vyacheslav Mikhailovich Batenin (born March 12, 1939) is a Russian scientist in the field of electrophysics, a corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Sciences since 1987, a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (1991).

Biography

Born March 12, 1939 in Moscow.

Graduated from Moscow Power Engineering Institute (1962). He worked at the Institute of High Temperatures of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR ( IVTAN ): engineer, senior researcher, department head, deputy director.

Since 1993, director of the Joint Institute for High Temperatures (OIVT) of the Russian Academy of Sciences , transformed from IVTAN.

Doctor of technical sciences, professor. Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Sciences since 1987, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (1991).

He is the author of works on the study of the properties of weakly ionized plasma, pulsed electric discharges, the creation of superconducting inductive energy storage devices, superconducting magnetic systems.

Awards and Prizes

He was awarded the orders of the Badge of Honor (1981), the Red Banner of Labor (1990), "For Services to the Fatherland" IV degree (1999), the Order of Honor (2011).
