In April 1999, the theater was inscribed on the English Heritage List [1] .

In 2004, the building underwent a major reconstruction: the main facilities of the theater were modernized, the backstage space and stage were repaired, and the capacity of the auditorium was increased. Exterior decoration allowed the famous tower to return to its original appearance, the general exterior was restored, and the LED backlight was updated.

The renewed theater opened on April 16, 2004 with the musical “ Mamma Mia! "Who moved here from the Prince Edward Theater. However, in September 2012, the musical moved again: this time to the Novello Theater [2] . Having played more than 3,000 performances here, the musical “Mamma Mia!” Broke the record for the longest-running theater show - the musical “ Aspects of Love ” (1326 performances).
