Kstati is the ninth studio album by the Russian singer Utah , released by United Music Group on February 3, 2014 . It was released two versions of this disc. In the expanded version bonus tracks are added, and also there is a booklet with verses of the performer ^[2] . Later, the record company Ultra Production was released on vinyl ^[3] . The vinyl edition includes ten tracks, five on each side of the record. The tracklist corresponds to the non-vinyl version of the album, with the exception of one track. Completes the disc composition "Hops and Malt" ^[4] . The song "My Beloved" is the soundtrack to the TV series "While the village sleeps" became the winner of the " Golden Gramophone " award in 2015 ^[5] . The singles “By the way”, “First date” and “My beloved” reached the Tophit charts with 49, 29 and 17 places respectively ^[6] .

Reviews

The title song of the album, according to Alexei Mazhaev , was written in the best traditions of the lyrical ballad “Slightly Uncertain”, and the critic called “No No” and “Hello” intelligent pop music ^[7] . Denis Stupnikov, in turn, noted the composition “Airplane”, calling it “pop fighter” ^[8] ^[9] .

The record really looks timely, because the singer’s return from a prolonged leave caused by the birth of children and the death of her husband, many looked forward to. And Utah confirms that she is still in force, in such strong and heartfelt things as "By the way", "First Date", "Yes No" and "Hello." Yes, in all these songs there is a lot of hidden pain, on which the singer does not speculate, but talks about her implicitly, allegorically. It seems that Utah is at a crossroads and has not fully decided on the final choice of its own stylistics. But her creative potential does not cause doubt, and therefore it is extremely interesting to watch her twisty turns.

Video Clips

On four tracks from the album were made video clips. The first video appeared on the song "By the way", which was directed by the sibling's brother Oleg Semin. Shooting the video took place in the pavilions of VGIK . The clip uses a large number of incandescent electric lamps, which serve as a kind of spotlights. The video continues the series of videos in which the performer appears before the audience in a feminine way and simply shares her work with them, without loading the video with storylines ^[10] .

The second appeared the video for the song "My beloved." The clip is based on fragments of the series “While the village sleeps,” where it is a soundtrack. The video directors were Andrei Artyukhov, Sofia Vybornova and Yegor Voronin. Video series with episodes of the series echoes the image of Utah ^[11] .

The clip for the song “Forgive-Goodbye”, shot by Alexander Kolesnikov, is some kind of gathering of musicians at a cozy rehearsal base ^[12] . Later, another video appeared on this song. The video describes the story of the relationship between men and women who are on the verge of collapse. The main character decides to poison her companion (Alexander Stefantsov), responding to his aggression with self-irony. However, the heroes still manage to part beautifully. The directors of the clip were Alexander Zamyslov and Elena Novikova ^[13] .

The video for the song “First Date” was filmed by Nina Dyagileva, Danila Zotov and Asya Free. According to the plot, Utah seems to be going on a date, but after a romantic walk through the winter city with a yellow umbrella comes to a rehearsal ^[14] .
