Lance Stroll ( born Lance Stroll ; born October 29, 1998) is a Canadian race car driver. The son of a Canadian businessman Lawrence Stroll [1] .

Career
He began his career at age 10 with karting . The debut series for him were the Canadian National Karting Championships and the Montreal and Quebec Cups (Micro Max class); he won all these championships. In 2009, he continued his career in the same championships in the Mini Max class: in two cities he became the champion again, and in the national he took the 2nd place.
In 2010, he won the Canadian Championship for the second time and took 1st place in the Florida Winter Tour outside Canada. In 2011, he participated in the World Cup, WSK Euro Series, WSK Final Cup, Bridgestone Cup and German Championship. In 2012, he won the SKUSA SuperNationals competition in the TaG Junior class and took 2nd place in the Trophy Andrea Margutti in the KF3 class.
In 2014 he made his debut in the racing championship with cars with open wheels . He took part in the Italian Formula 4 as part of the Prema Powerteam team. For 21 races I visited the podium 14 times, with 331 points I finished the season in 1st place.
In 2015, he participated in the Formula 3 European Championship , gaining 231 points and took 5th place in the championship [2] . He also performed in the New Zealand series of Toyota, where he became the champion.
From 2010 to 2015 he was a member of the Ferrari Development Academy [1] .
Formula 1
In November 2015, the Williams Formula 1 team announced a contract with Stroll for the reserve pilot position for the 2016 season. [3]
In November 2016, it was announced that in the 2017 season Stroll will replace Williams Felipe Massa in the main team. [4] Later, Valtteri Bottas was announced to be a Mercedes, and Stroll's partner in the team was Felipe Massa , who signed a contract for the 2017 season.
On June 11, 2017 in Canada, Stroll scored the first 2 points in Formula 1 for 9th place, and already in the next race he became 3rd on the podium, losing 2nd place only to the finish line to Bottas.
