Traveling the Street
Starting from Avenida Varnes Street on the border of the Chacarita and Villa Crespo districts, it is the border between the two districts right up to the Ferrocarril General San Martín railway. In this area there are many shops selling auto parts. 500 meters from Avenida Warnes, Don Leon Kolbowsky Stadium, owned by Atlanta Football Club, is located. After another 283 meters, there is a viaduct , which was opened on June 25, 2009, along which cars pass under the railway lines of the Ferrocarril General San Martín [1] .
At the intersection with Avenida Corrientes Avenue, there are: Los Andes Park, Chacarita Station of the Ferrocarril General San Martín Railway Station and Dorrego Metro Station on the Buenos Aires Metro Line B. In the Colechiales area, at the corner of Avenida Alvarez Thomas and Dorrego Avenue, is the Mercado de las Pulgas (Flea Market). This building was renovated in 1988 and operated until December 2005. The city authorities are going to reconstruct this building, which operated from 1928 to 1981 as a fruit and vegetable market [2] [3] .
Further along the street is the building of 9 TV channels. At the intersection with Paraguay Street, there was a branch of Jose Leon Suarez and Bartolome Miter of the Ferrocarril Miter railway, which is currently closed after the construction of the bridge on Jorge Newbery Street began. Further, the street goes to the Palermo area, at the intersection with Avenida Santa Fe Avenue, next to the Carranza viaduct, there is the Minister of Carrana railway station Ferrocarril Miter and the metro station Ministro Carranza line D.
The last section of the avenue passes through the Tres de Febrero Park and the Campo Argentino de Polo complex, Palermo Hippodrome, Republic Square of Ecuador, and ends on Avenida Leopoldo Lugones Street, away from Jorge Newbery Airport . Due to the heavy traffic on Avenida Dorrego Avenue at the intersection with Avenida Figueroa Alcorta, the Buenos Aires government has commissioned AUSA to build a footbridge across Avenida Dorrego between Avenida Figueroa Alcorta and the Ferrocarril General Bartolomé Miter railway. Municipal authorities opened the bridge on December 19, 2008, which is 153 meters long and 3 meters wide [4] .
