Biography
He was born on April 6, 1922 in a peasant family in the village of Lamovo in the Porkhov district of the Pskov province (now the Dedovichi district of the Pskov region ).
After graduating from a seven-year school, he moved to his brother in Leningrad. At the factory-training school, he received the specialty of a fitter and assembler, and at 16 he joined the Shtabmetiz artel.
Since July 4, 1941 - in the Red Army , where he left as a volunteer. Member of World War II . At the beginning of the war, he served as a sled in an economic platoon, until he was injured in September 1941. Having recovered, he graduated from machine gunner courses. In February 1942 he was sent to a separate motorized rifle battalion of the 124th tank brigade of the Leningrad Front , but on the second day he was seriously wounded in the thigh. He was treated in hospitals for eight months. In 1944 - the calculation number of the 1st mortar company of the 1063rd rifle regiment of the 272nd rifle division of the 7th army of the Karelian and 2nd Belorussian fronts , a Red Army man . In July of that year he joined the CPSU (B.) . Participated in battles in East Prussia , Northern Poland . He was awarded the medal "For Courage" and "For Military Merit." In March 1945 he was sent to study at the Kazan Tank School named after the Supreme Council of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic .
Having been demobilized from the army in 1947, he returned to Leningrad, where he began to work as a mechanic for mechanical assembly at the Central Design Bureau (TsKB) to design special equipment for the radio industry with experimental plant No. 574 (since 1966 - TsKB technology and equipment with a factory - TsKBTO) , which in March 1969 became part of the created Positron Research and Production Association of the USSR Ministry of Electronic Industry.
The electronic industry was still beginning to develop then, and very qualified, technically competent specialists were needed. Here, knowledge of mathematics and mechanics came in handy. While working at the Central Specialized Clinical Hospital, he made more than 50 rationalization proposals and created a school of excellence.
He created a comprehensive team that brought together design engineers, workers of 7 professional groups, and launched the production of small-sized color televisions, VCRs, and other household appliances. Scheduled tasks were carried out by 250-350%, depending on the supply by subcontractors of parts of the product. According to the results of the VIII five-year plan (1966-1970), he was awarded the Order of Lenin for high production achievements. The brigade and personally Gavriil Ivanovich mastered new technological processes for the production of electronic equipment, the release of new samples of radio equipment for rocket troops and astronautics.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 29, 1976 for outstanding achievements in fulfilling the tasks of the ninth five-year plan, and a great contribution to improving production efficiency and product quality, Ivanov Gavriil Ivanovich was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Medal " Hammer and Sickle ."
As a youth mentor, he prepared to surrender more than 50 people to a higher level.
He lived in St. Petersburg. He died on February 27, 2011 . He was buried in the Kovalevsky cemetery .
