Biography
He loved to draw from early childhood, he studied at a visual studio.
During the Great Patriotic War from 1941 to 1942. was the "son of a regiment" of the 25th Chapaevsky division, where his mother, Sarah Isaakovna Shapiro, served as a medical instructor. From the end of 1942 to 1944 was with his mother in evacuation. They returned to Odessa after the liberation of the city in April 1944.
The war years formed the basis of a series of works entitled “Remembering, childhood”. In parallel with his studies at the Odessa Petroleum College, he worked as an artist at the Chamber of Commerce and the Art Fund, and collaborated with the Mayak publishing house in Odessa.
Later he entered the faculty of book decoration at the Moscow Polygraphic Institute.
In 1971 he became a member of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR (National Union of Artists of Ukraine). [1] [1]

His paintings are presented in museums of Russia - Magnitogorsk Art Picture Gallery, Ukraine - National Museum of Ukrainian Fine Arts (Kiev), Lviv Museum of Art, Kherson Art Gallery, Chuguev Art Picture Gallery named after E. Repina, etc., as well as in private collections in Australia, Germany, Israel, Canada, Russia, the USA, France, with the author's signature "Yuga", which is the artist's pseudonym.
In 2003, the artist donated more than 200 of his works to Odessa charity organizations, museums, orphanages and the city of Ilyichevsk.
