Zagorje (Bosnia and Herzegovina)

Zagorje ( Serbohorv. Zagorje ) is a medieval jupa , a historical region in southeastern Bosnia and Herzegovina .

Located in the upper reaches of the Neretva River. At different times, Zagorje included the cities of Kalinovik, Obal, Veletin and Ulog [1] . First mentioned in 1323 under the Bosnian bath Stepan Kotromanic . Subsequently, it was in the possession of the Khum feudal lord Stepan Vukchich . The Turks occupied the region during the campaign of 1463, in 1465 they completely captured Zagorje [2] .
