Museum of Moscow Aviation Institute

The Museum of the Moscow Aviation Institute ( MAI Museum ) is part of the Museum and Exhibition Complex of the National Research University and is located on the territory of the educational institution in the Moscow Sokol district in Building 24 on Leningradskoye Shosse .

Museum Description

The museum and exhibition complex includes a historical and memorial hall, a main exhibition hall, a conference hall, a small meeting room, a temporary exhibition hall (art exhibition hall). The museum’s exposition tells about the history of the institute since its foundation, about the development of higher engineering and aviation education in Russia, about outstanding scientists and graduates of the institute, as well as about the contribution of MAI, its scientists and graduates to the development and achievements of domestic and world aerospace engineering [ 2] .

The Museum hosts photo exhibitions [3] .

History

In order to conduct systematic research and generalization of materials on the history of the institute, its traditions, the creative heritage of graduates, teachers and scientists of the institute, the role of the Moscow Aviation Institute in the development of domestic science and aircraft technology, as well as the use of the results of these works in academic and other work ... The Museum of History was opened on the day of the 60th anniversary of the Moscow Aviation Institute - March 20, 1990. The first director was Margarita Serafimovna Jacobs [5] .

Museum Visit

The museum is open on weekdays. Reception of visitors is carried out strictly by prior arrangement.
