Hyurman, Judit

Judith Hörman ( German: Judith Hörmann ; April 20, 1983 , Karlsruhe ), a German kayaker , played for the German national team in the second half of the 2000s. Three-time world champion, twice European champion, winner of many regattas of national and international importance.

Biography

Judith Hurman was born on April 20, 1983 in Karlsruhe . She began to actively engage in kayaking from early childhood, was trained in Potsdam , was a member of the Potsdam eponymous canoe club KC Potsdam.

The first serious success at the adult international level was in 2005, when she joined the main team of the German national team and visited the European Championships in Poznan, Poland, from where she brought three awards of various denominations at once, including two gold awards won in the classification of four-seater kayaks on at distances of 200 and 500 meters (at a distance of 1000 meters I had to be content with a silver award). In addition, this season she performed at the World Championships in the Croatian Zagreb, where she also went up to the podium three times: she won four-hundred and two-hundred and five-hundred meters, while a thousand won bronze.

In 2006, Hörman added three silver medals to her track record at the European Championship in Czech Rachitsa in the kilometer-long doubles race, as well as in the 200-meter and half-kilometer four-person races. Later, at the world championship in Hungarian Szeged she won silver in four-seater kayak races at distances of 200 and 500 meters.

The last time she showed any significant results in the international arena in the 2007 season, when she won the silver medal at the European Championships in Pontevedra, Spain at the 1000 meters and then at the World Championships in Duisburg at the kilometer she became the best in doubles and took bronze in fours. Soon after the end of these competitions, she decided to end the career of a professional athlete, losing her place in the national team to young German rowers.
