Toyota's UR series engines are Toyota's 32-valve V8 petrol engines. The production of engines in the UR series began in 2006, it has become an alternative to UZ engines . The first 1UR-FSE engines with D4-S direct injection systems have been installed on the Lexus LS since 2007. The engines of the series consist of cast aluminum block , aluminum block head and magnesium cylinder covers. All UR engines have variable valve timing for intake and exhaust shafts (Dual VVT-i ). Chains are used to drive camshafts . UR engines have volumes of 4.6, 5.0, 5.7 liters of displacement.

4.6 liter engines
1UR-FSE
The 1UR-FSE V8 engine is installed on the Lexus LS 460 and LS 460 L, luxury sedans in 2006, and has a volume of 4.6 liters (4608 cc). The cylinder diameter is 94 mm and the piston stroke is 83 mm. The engine is equipped with an injection system D4-S and gas distribution Dual VVT-iE , power 385 hp (287 kW) at 6400 rpm and a torque of 500 Nm at 4100 rpm.
1UR-FSE engines undergo X-ray scanning and CT ( computed tomography ) to provide maximum control after the casting process. Camshafts are made hollow to reduce weight. [one]
1UR-FSE was installed on:
- 2007 Lexus LS 460 & LS 460 L
- 2008 Lexus GS 460
- 2009 Toyota Crown Majesta
1UR-FE
The basis for 1UR-FE was 1UR-FSE, but without the D4-S system. Initially, the engine was installed on Lexus cars for the Middle East, but since 2010 it has become available in other markets as a replacement for the 2UZ-FE engine for trucks and SUVs. Engine power 347 hp (259 kW) at 6400 rpm and a torque of 460 Nm at 4100 rpm on Lexus GS and LS. On Toyota Land Cruiser cars, the engine produces 304 hp. (227 kW) at 5500 rpm and 439 Nm of torque at 3400 rpm.
1UR-FE is installed on:
- Lexus LS 460 & LS 460 L (Middle East, since 2007)
- Lexus GS 460 (Middle East, 2005 to 2011)
- Toyota Fortuner (Middle East, since 2012)
- Lexus GX 460 (since 2010)
- Toyota Land Cruiser 200 (China, Middle East and Australia, 2012)
- Toyota Sequoia (from 2010 to 2012)
- Toyota Tundra (since 2010)
5.0 liter engines
2UR-GSE
The 2UR-GSE engine has a capacity of 5.0 liters (4969 cc) and is mounted on the Lexus IS-F, RC-F and LC500. The 32-valve V8 motor, with a cylinder head developed by Yamaha, has titanium inlet valves. The cylinder diameter is 94 mm and the piston stroke is 89.5 mm.
Engines on IS-F vehicles have a compression ratio of 11.8: 1 and deliver 417 hp. (311 kW) at 6,600 rpm, a torque of 505 Nm at 5,200 rpm. On the RC-F, the compression ratio is 12.3: 1, the power is 471 hp. (351 kW) and a torque of 530 Nm.
2UR-GSE is installed on:
- Lexus IS-F (from 2008 to 2014)
- Lexus RC -F (since 2014)
- Lexus GS -F (since 2015)
- Lexus LC 500 (since 2016)
2UR-FSE
The 2UR-FSE engine has a capacity of 5.0 liters (4969 cc) and is mounted on the Lexus LS600h. Equipped with D4-S, Dual VVT-i, VVT-iE systems. The cylinder diameter and piston stroke are similar to those of the 2UR-GSE, however, power is 394 hp. (294 kW) at 6400 rpm and 520 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm. Electric motors ( Lexus Hybrid Drive ) allowed to increase power to 327 kW (439 hp). [2]
2UR-FSE was installed on the 2008 Lexus LS 600h and LS 600h L.
5.7 liter engines
3UR-FE
The 3UR-FE engine has a volume of 5.7 liters (5663 cc) and is installed on Toyota Tundra / Sequoia / Land Cruiser, and Lexus LX570 Trucks, does not have a D-4S injection system but has a Dual VVT-i system . Bore 94 mm, piston stroke 102 mm, engine power 381 hp. (283 kW) at 5600 rpm and 543 Nm of torque at 3600 rpm. The exhaust manifold is made of stainless steel, the exhaust has three catalytic converters . The mass of the engine is 222 kg.
Atelier Toyota Racing Development produces turbocharged engines for cars Tundra and Sequoia, issuing 504 hp (376 kW) of power and 750 Nm of torque. A TRD engine with a supercharger can be installed by dealers, such a swap will also have a guarantee.
3UR-FE is installed on:
- Toyota Tundra (since 2007)
- Toyota Sequoia (since 2008)
- Toyota Land Cruiser 200 (USA, since 2008)
- Toyota Land Cruiser 200 (Middle East, since 2011)
- Lexus LX 570 (since 2008)
