Biography

Born September 22, 1893 in the village of Ivanovo. Soon, together with his family, he moved to St. Petersburg , where he received secondary education.

In 1922 he graduated from the Military Medical Academy in Petrograd .

From 1926 to 1936, he served as head of the laboratory of experimental biology at the Leningrad Institute of Occupational Health and Safety.

From 1932 to 1938 he held the position of head of the laboratory of experimental pathology of the Leningrad Institute of Blood Transfusion.

From 1938 and from 1939 to 1970 he was the head of the Department of Pathophysiology of the Leningrad Medical Institute and the Leningrad Naval Academy . Major General of the medical service.

Founder of the Leningrad School of Pathophysiologists. Chairman of the All-Union Society of Pathophysiologists (1960-1967).

He died on October 10, 1970 in Leningrad.

He was buried at the Theological Cemetery in St. Petersburg [2] .

Scientific work

The main scientific works are devoted to various fields of general and experimental pathology.

  • He proved the importance of macroergic phosphorus compounds in oxygen starvation.
  • He substantiated the principles of complex therapy for shock and proposed anti-shock fluid .
  • Developed methods of craniocerebral hypothermia.
