According to the plot, the film is a free fantasy based on Bernard Shaw ’s “ Houses Where Hearts Are Broken ”, also fantasy plays “in the Russian style on English themes”. The name of the movie is a literal translation of a medieval medical diagnosis : lat. Anaesthesia dolorosa :
“The name of this film is taken from the field of medicine. As a director, I made a film about mournful insensibility - a disease that only a person suffers from. <...> About how difficult it is to distinguish and feel the line beyond which people cease to be ill with human diseases and fall ill like animals. Incurable. "
