This is the first English-language film adaptation using the original ending of the novel, but at the same time maintaining the same political correctness of the later reissues of the novel - instead of the little indignant from the original British publication, soldiers were used here (this variant is used in many modern English-language editions of the novel).
Story
In August 1939, certain Mr. and Mrs. Onim invited to a small isolated Soldier Island off the coast of Devon county eight guests who were not familiar with each other. On the island, guests are met by a newly hired servant, Thomas and Ethel Rodgers, but there are no owners. At dinner, the guests notice that in the center of the table are the figures of ten soldiers. After a while, Thomas Rogers puts a record on which, as it turned out, the charges of each person present in the killings were recorded. Soon one of the guests dies, followed by a chain of mysterious murders committed in strict accordance with the children's count of ten soldiers. With each new victim, the number of soldiers on the table decreases. The guests are investigating, trying to find the criminal hiding among themselves - it is not too late ...
