Signmark

Signmark (real name Marko Vuorheimo, fin. Marko Vilhelm Vuoriheimo ; born 1978) is a deaf Finnish rapper. He became the first deaf musician to sign a contract with one of the leading music labels - Warner Music .

Biography

Born June 26, 1978 in Helsinki, since deaf since birth.

Music attracted Marco as a child, when he first learned to perform Christmas carols in sign language. To improve his performance, he spent a lot of time in front of the mirror.

His albums are simultaneously released on CD , where sound tracks with vocals are recorded, and on DVD , where the artist performs each track in Finnish sign language [1] . Signmark gives many concerts around the world, while in rhythm it is guided by the vibration of the beat and bass line and rhymes in sign language [2] .

Signmark was one of the Finnish musicians competing in national qualifications to represent the country at Eurovision 2009 . Together with Osmo Iconen, he performed the song Speakerbox [3] .

In 2008, Signmark traveled to Russia by attending the Star of Hope festival in St. Petersburg . Until 2009, he performed with Heiki Soini and Kim Erom. After that, the band broke up, and Marco Vuorheimo signed a personal contract with the label Warner Music .

Discography

Signmark's debut album was released on November 29, 2006. There are eight songs on the album, many of which related to the history and culture of the Finnish community.
