Abu 'Abdullah Muhammad al-'Arabi ad-Darcawi ( 1760 - 1823 ) - the leading mentor of the Tarikat Shazili in Morocco and the founder of his branch - the Order of Darcavia . Author of articles and letters on the practice of Sufism . He was arrested because of the support of the uprising against Sultan Moulay Sulayman , but was released by Sultan Abd ar-Rahman . His grave is located in the Bou Brich zoo in the city of Ar-Reef .

Sheikh ad-Darkavi revived and gave a new impetus to the preaching of a contemplative lifestyle for members of the Shazili fraternity, this led to the rapid growth of the branches of the order and the tariqah created after his death gained great influence and significance throughout North Africa . The branches of the order were also opened in Syria and in the Hejaz [1] .
