  • In the battle of Borne, by the mayor of the Franks, Karl Martell defeated the Frisian army . The Frisian king Poppo was killed. The Franks captured the Frisian lands between the Vly and Lowers rivers.
  • Obeid Allah ibn al-Gabhab was appointed governor of Ifricia (ruled until 741). He built the mosque of al-Zaitoon in Tunisia and the marine arsenal [1] .
  • The King of the Picts Angus I attacked the Gaelic kingdom of Dal Riad and captured Dun Leithfinn Castle, forcing King Dungal to flee to Ireland .
