Lyndsie Fogarty ( born April 17, 1984 , Brisbane ) is an Australian kayaker who played for Australia in the late 2000s and early 2010s. Bronze medalist at the Beijing Summer Olympics, participant in the London Olympics, winner of many regattas of national and international importance.

Biography

Lindsey Fogarty was born on April 17, 1984 in Brisbane , Queensland . She began to actively engage in kayaking from early childhood, she was trained at the Currumbin Creek Canoe Club sports club.

She achieved her first serious success at the adult international level in 2008, when she became a member of the Australian national team and thanks to a series of successful performances she was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the Beijing Summer Olympics . As part of the four-seater crew, which also included rowers Lisa Oldenhof , Chantal Mick and Hannah Davis , took third place in the half-kilometer race and thereby won the bronze Olympic medal (only teams from Germany and Hungary were ahead of her at the finish). In addition, paired with Davis, she started here in the doubles program at five hundred meters, she also reached the final stage of the tournament, but only sixth finished in the decisive race, not reaching the prize positions.

As one of the leaders of the Australian national team, Fogarty successfully qualified for the 2012 London Olympics - this time four in five hundred meters together with Reich Lovell , Joe Brigden-Jones and Hannah Davis located in the final protocol in ninth position, while in twos at five hundred meters paired with Naomi Flood became the twelfth. Soon after the end of these competitions, she decided to end the career of a professional athlete, losing her place in the national team to young Australian rowers.
