Title
The name of the bridge has been known since the beginning of the XIX century. and comes from the name of the Artillery Island [1] [2] .
History
Since the beginning of the XIX century. on this place there was a wooden bridge, dismantled at the end of the XIX century. The existing bridge was erected in 1976 - 1978. as part of the construction of a transport highway along the embankment of the Kronverksky Strait according to the project of engineer B. B. Levin and architect G. V. Govorkovsky [3] .
Design
The bridge is single-span reinforced concrete, beam system. The span consists of typical double-tee beams of constant height from prestressed reinforced concrete. From the facades, the beams of the spans are covered with decorative arches lined with granite. Abutments from monolithic reinforced concrete on a pile foundation. The total length of the bridge is 29.5 m, the length of the bridge is 20.4 m [3] .
The bridge is designed for traffic and pedestrians. The carriageway of the bridge includes 4 lanes for the movement of vehicles. The covering of the roadway and sidewalks is asphalt concrete. The sidewalks are separated from the roadway by a high granite curb. As fences, deaf granite parapets were used.
Externally, the bridge repeats the appearance of the neighboring East Artillery Bridge .
