Guy Ryder ( born Guy Ryder ; born January 3, 1956 , Liverpool , UK ) is the Director General of the International Labor Organization (ILO) .

Short biography
Guy Ryder was born in Liverpool in 1956 . He studied social and political sciences at the University of Cambridge , as well as Latin American studies at Liverpool. Then he worked at the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions (ICFTU). In November 2006, he became the General Secretary of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC). In September 2012, he was appointed Executive Director of the International Labor Office (ILO) in Geneva. On October 1, 2012 he headed the International Labor Organization (ILO), replacing Juan Somavia [1] [2] in this post.
