Biography
The son of the landowner Heinrich, the brother of the Polish composer and the landowner Heinrich and the cousin of Jadwiga and Maria. The nephew of the Prime Minister of the Belarusian People’s Republic, Roman Skirmunt . Born on the estate of Skirmunt Molodovo near Pinsk .
In 1887 he graduated from the Law Faculty of St. Petersburg University. He was a partner (deputy) of the board of the Grodno Agricultural Society, a member of the board of the Agricultural Partnership, chamberlain (1904). One of the founders of the Regional Party of Lithuania and Belarus (1907).
He was a member of the State Council of the Russian Empire (1907–1914). In 1917-1918, he was a member of the Polish People's Committee Roman Dmovsky in Paris . Since 1918 - official of the Polish Ministry of the Interior. In the years 1919-1921 - plenipotentiary envoy in Rome , a member of the Polish delegation to the Versailles Conference (1919).
From June 11, 1921 to June 6, 1922, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, then, from 1922, the plenipotentiary envoy in London and then (from 1929) the ambassador there until 1934.
The author of memoirs ("Moje wspomnienia 1866-1945").
He died in Walbrzych in Poland in 1949.
Awards and titles
He was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of the Renaissance of Poland, the Golden Cross of Merit and the Knight of the Great Cross of the British Victorian Order.
