Alexander Romanovich Belov (12/02/1906, Taganrog - 12/12/1977) - Soviet metallurgical engineer, first director of the Kola nuclear power plant . Laureate of three Stalin Prizes.

Biography

Graduated from Tomsk Polytechnic Institute (1931).

Since 1937 he worked in the metallurgical shop of the Severonickel plant (Murmansk region), in 1940-1941. chief engineer (before the evacuation of the plant in Norilsk). Since 1941, the head of the main workshop, the head of the plant of the Norilsk Mining and Metallurgical Combine.

In 1946-1949, chief engineer, director of an engineering plant in the city of Elektrostal . In 1949-1953 the director of the Chepetsk Mechanical Plant (Glazov, Udmurtia). In 1953-1960 he was the director of "Combine No. 815" in the Krasnoyarsk Territory (the future Mining and Chemical Combine ).

In 1968-1973, first the construction manager, then the first director of the Kola NPP. Died after a serious illness, buried in Moscow.

Rewards

Three times the Stalin Prize laureate as a participant in the nuclear program.
