Boris Borisovich Akimov (b. 1946 ) - Soviet Russian ballet dancer , choreographer , ballet teacher , film actor, composer . People's Artist of the USSR ( 1989 ). Laureate of the USSR State Prize ( 1977 ) [1] .

Biography

Born June 25, 1946 in Vienna ( Austria ).

In 1965 he graduated from the Moscow Choreographic School (now the Moscow State Academy of Choreography (teachers E.N. Sergievskaya, M.E. Liepa ), in 1978 - the department of choreographers of the GITIS named after A. Lunacharsky (now the Russian University of Theater Arts - GITIS ) .

In 1965-1989 - soloist of the Bolshoi Ballet , improved under the direction of A. N. Ermolaev [1] .

The concert repertoire consists of fragments of classical ballets.

Since 1989 - teacher-choreographer of the Bolshoi Theater .

He worked under contracts as a choreographer at the theaters “Covent Garden” ( London ), “ La Scala ” ( Milan ), the troupe “Asami Maki Ballet” ( Tokyo ), the Vienna State Opera , the Hamburg State Opera , the Bavarian State Opera ( Munich ), Danish Royal Ballet ( Copenhagen ), Paris National Opera , Mariinsky Theater ( St. Petersburg ), Basel Ballet ( Switzerland ), National Ballet of the Netherlands ( Amsterdam ), London Royal Ballet School.

In 2000-2003, he was the artistic director of the Bolshoi Ballet Company.

In 1980-1988 he taught at the Department of Choreography of GITIS. In 2001-2005, he was professor at the Department of Men's Classical and Duo-Classical Dance at the Moscow Academy of Choreography, in 2001-2002 he was the acting rector of the academy, and in 2002-2005 he was the artistic director of the academy.

In 2013 - Chairman of the Art Council of the Bolshoi Ballet Troupe, currently - Deputy Chairman.
