He later played at the Théâtre de l'Ambigu-Comique and Théâtre de l'Athénée. During a tour in Lyon, Jean-Francois Ponson drew his attention to him and hired him at the Théâtre Royal des Galeries Saint-Hubert in Brussels for 12 whole years. The Brussels public warmly welcomes the actor; among his most notable works there is Le Mariage de Mademoiselle Beulemans .
Bery then played in 30 of the successful plays by authors Marcel Auchard , Alfred Savoir , Luis Verneuil and Roger Ferdinand . Arrogant, extravagant and moody, Berry was not inferior in brightness to the best actors of that period, including Pierre Brasser . Jules Berry is often considered one of the greatest actors in the history of French cinema [3] .
Among the best films of Berry: “The Crime of Monsieur Lange” by Jean Renoir , “ Evening Visitors ” by Marcel Carne (where he played the role of the devil remarkably), “The Day Begins ” by Marcel Carne, Le Voyageur de la Toussaint by Louis Daken , “Baccarat” Iva Miranda , 27 Rue de la Paix Richard Potier and L'Habit vert Roche Rishebe .
In 1951, as it eventually came out, shortly before his death, Berry finished his film career and began reciting poems by Jacques Prever .
