In Brazil, the release of the album was accompanied by a grandiose concert by Julio Iglesias in 1982 at the Flamengo stadium in La Gavea in the presence of about 40 thousand spectators. In the same year, the record was sold in the country in more than 1.6 million copies, turning Julio Iglesias into the best-selling foreign artist in Brazil ^[2] .

In Japan, the album was the best-selling foreign album of 1982 - with sales of that year about 300 thousand copies ^[3] .

The title song ("De niña a mujer") was also a hit. Its author, composer Tony Renis earned her a nomination for an award from ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) in the category "Best Latin American Song of the Year" ^[4] .

In 1984, the disc reached 184 places on the American Billboard 200 chart ^[5] (that is, it happened later, in the wake of the success of other Iglesias albums in the USA).
