Baron Ellenborough of Ellenborough in Cumberland County is a hereditary title in the United Kingdom Peer System. It was created on April 19, 1802 for a lawyer, judge and politician Sir Edward Lowe (1750–1818), lord of the chief royal judge (1802–1818). His eldest son, Edward Lowe, 2nd Baron Ellenborough (1790–1871). He was a deputy to the House of Commons from Mitchell (1813–1818), Lord Guardian of the Malaya Seal (1828–1829), Chairman of the Control Council (1828–1830, 1834–1835, 1841, and 1858), First Lord of the Admiralty (1846) and Vice the king of India (1842–1844). In 1844, the title of Viscount Southem of Southeme in Gloucestershire and Earl Ellenboro in Cumberland County was created for him. All these titles were the United Kingdom Kingdom Feast. His only son, Arthur Dudley (1828–1830), died in childhood. After his death in 1871, the titles of Viscount Southeme and the Earl of Ellenborough were interrupted.

However, the title of Baron was inherited by his nephew, Charles Edmund Low, 3rd Baron Ellenborough (1820–1890). He was the son of the Honorable Charles Low (1792-1850), a member of parliament from the University of Cambridge (1835-1850), the second son of the 1st Baron Ellenboro. In 1885, he received the royal permission for the additional name "Tauri", which was worn by his maternal grandfather. After the death of his son, Charles Tauri Hamilton Tauri-Low, 4th Baron Ellenborough (1856-1902), this branch of the family died away. He was succeeded by his cousin, Edward Downes Lowe, 5th Baron Ellenborough (1841–1915). After his death, the title passed to his younger brother, Cecil Henry Low, 6th Baron Ellenboro (1849-1931). As of 2014, the title bearer was his great-grandson, Rupert Edward Henry Low, 9th Baron Ellenborough (born 1955), who succeeded his father in 2013.
