History
The original name - Pochtovy Lane - appeared in the 1800s and is due to the fact that mail was transported from the lane on horses belonging to the merchant Tarakanov who lived here. The second Postal Lane in Lomonosov was the current Catherine Lane .
On February 27, 1869, the lane was renamed St. Petersburg Street , because shortly before that, in 1864, the St. Petersburg - Oranienbaum railway was built, and at the beginning of the street is the terminal station of this road - Oranienbaum I.
In 1914, the street became Petrograd , since 1924 - Leningrad . Renamed took place after the renaming of the city.
January 13, 1998 the street was returned to the historical name Petersburg [1] .
The eastern (even) side of St. Petersburg Street between Railway Station Square and Rubakin Street is occupied by Railway Station Square.
