Biography
He graduated from the law faculty of Moscow University (1910), after which he was enlisted as an assistant attorney at law. During the First World War in 1915, he was called up for military service and was in the troops of the Western Front .
In the 1920s — 1930s. Researcher of the institutes of literature (since 1923) and history (since 1926) RANION . In 1924 he was elected a full member of the Academy of Art Sciences, in 1931, transformed into the Academy of Art. In 1939-1946, with a break for 1941-1943. - Senior Researcher, Institute of World Literature, USSR Academy of Sciences . In 1941-1943 in evacuation in Ashgabat . Since 1944, the deputy for the scientific part, in 1946-1954. Director of the State Literary Museum . In 1946-1958 Senior Researcher, Institute of History, USSR Academy of Sciences .

Wife Tamara Nikolaevna Borozdina-Kozmina (1889-1959), sister of I. N. Borozdina , one of the last and favorite students of B. A. Turaeva [1] . The son of M. B. Kozmin is also a literary critic.
