Ostasio II da Polenta

Ostasio was the second of the six sons of Guido III Lucio da Polenta . In 1382, he participated in the war for the Neapolitan crown on the side of Louis of Anjou , in 1386 he supported the husband of his sister Antonio della Scala against Francesco da Carrara . In 1387, Ostasio led a horse detachment of 1,500 men and, together with Giovanni Ordelaffi , fought the White Company , hired by the Padua. In the battle of Castagnaro, he was defeated.

In 1389, together with the Ostasio brothers, he overthrew his father and sent him to prison, where he soon died of starvation. After that, the brothers ruled together. Ostasio in the same year became papal viceroy in Ravenna, and after the death of Azzo da Polenta he became the eldest in the family (1394). He himself died two years later, leaving no offspring.
