Biography
Vladimir Fedorovich Samokhin was born into a working class family in the village of Kamenskaya, Donetsk District, the Don Don Troops Region (currently the city of Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, Rostov Region ). In 1932 he graduated from 9 classes of a school. He worked as a financial inspector.
In May 1941, Kamensky district military enlistment office was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army . Since July 1941, on the fronts of World War II .
By order of the 151st rifle regiment of February 23, 1944, for courage and heroism in the battles against the Nazi invaders and for the fact that in the battle near the village of Bolshoi Cherevach he found and destroyed an enemy firing point, the Red Army Samokhin was awarded the medal “For Courage” .
By order of the 151st rifle regiment of February 23, 1944 for courage and heroism in the battles against Nazi invaders and for the fact that under heavy enemy fire in battle at the village of Meleni in the Korosten district of the Zhytomyr region he did not leave his battle line and destroyed 3 enemy soldiers, Red Army Samokhin was awarded the second medal “For Courage”.
By order of the 151st rifle regiment of April 1, 1944, for courage and heroism in battles against Nazi invaders and for the fact that in a battle near the village of Yampol, Vinnitsa region, he destroyed 4 enemy machine gunners who tried to break into the defense of rifle units, as well as for the removal of 3 seriously wounded shooters from under the fire, the Red Army soldier Samokhin was awarded the third medal “For Courage”.
In the battle for the height of 649–638, the Red Army soldier Samokhin secretly crept up to the easel machine gun and with a throw of two grenades destroyed his calculation. In addition, he destroyed 3 enemy soldiers, wedged into the defense of the Red Army units, and captured one. By order of the 8th Infantry Division of June 8, 1944, he was awarded the Order of the Red Star .
By order of the 151st rifle regiment of July 24, 1944, for the courage and heroism in the battles against the Nazi invaders and for the destruction of 2 enemy soldiers in the battle for height 430.0 in the Stanislav region, Red Army Samokhin was awarded the medal "For Combat Merit" .
In the battle for the village of Dora in the Yampolsky district, Senior Sergeant Samokhin, with his detachment, by storm, stormed the enemy’s trench, destroying the enemy’s machine gun point and 10 enemy soldiers. In the battle for heights of 834.0 and 1120.9, 6 enemy soldiers were destroyed from his weapons and put down a light machine gun. By order of the 8th Infantry Division of September 16, 1944, he was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.
In battles for the height of 1172 in the Drogobych region, a platoon under the command of senior sergeant Samokhin repelled an enemy counterattack, destroying up to 30 enemy soldiers and 2 machine-gun points.
In battles for a height of 809.0, with his platoon, he was the first to break into the enemy’s trench, destroying up to 20 enemy soldiers.
In the area of the village of Nizhnyaya Apsha in battle, destroyed 2 machine gun points. By order of the troops of the 18th army of December 5, 1944, he was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
In the battles of January 9–26, 1945 outside the cities of Poprad and Spisska Nova Ves in the Kosice region of Slovakia, a platoon under the command of senior sergeant Samokhin repelled 3 enemy counterattacks, destroying 30 enemy soldiers and 4 machine-gun points. By order of the 18th Army on March 5, 1945, he was re-awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree. By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of July 22, 1950, he was re-awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree.
Petty Officer Samokhin was demobilized in October 1945. He lived in the city of Makhachkala , then in the city of Krasny Sulin, Rostov Region. He worked as the head of the Quality Department at the Dalnaya mine.
In 1985, to mark the 40th anniversary of the Victory, he was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree .
Vladimir Fedorovich Samokhin died in 1996.
