History
In 1826, Duderhof was presented to Empress Alexandra Feodorovna Nicholas I, and two years later, on her instructions, the park was established, which was called Nagorny. At the same time, a wooden two-storey Swiss house was built on the top of the Orekhovaya Hill, supposedly designed by Shtakenshneider , styled as a chalet . In 1836, under the direction of Alexandra Feodorovna, under the direction of the garden master Gray , 120 beech trees were brought from abroad and planted [1] .
The vegetation of the park is represented by such plants as beech, larch , ash , chestnut , hazel , fir , oak , elm , maple , viburnum , silver willow , currant , alpine honeysuckle , lilac and others.
After the revolution
After the revolution, the Swiss house was used as a holiday home . It was lost during the Great Patriotic War [2] .
Decision of the Leningrad Executive Committee number 849 from 10/31/1988 Nagorny Park is recognized as an architectural monument.
