Balthazar Emelyanovich de Loziere (XVII century - 1697 , Moscow ) is a Russian navy shautbenacht , one of the first associates of Peter the Great .
Biography
Arrived in Moscow from Persia in 1687 - 1688 together with Tsar Imeretinsky Alexander IV .
He served in the Belgorod regiment. In 1693 he was listed as a colonel in the Kursk Reiters Regiment. During the first Azov campaign, he was considered a colonel of the Lefort elective regiment.
In 1695, Colonel of the Lefortovo Regiment , led part of the newly built ships along the Voronezh River and participated with them in the Azov campaigns of Peter I.
Wounded near Azov, de Loziere was made king in the chautbenhacht , but on his return to Moscow in 1697 he died from an operation to remove a growth over his eye.
Mentioned in archival sources in connection with the search for the divorce of Peter I with his first wife, Tsarina Evdokia and marrying Ekaterina Alekseevna , as well as rumors about the king's extramarital affairs. So, one of the interrogated residents of Kursk reported:
“Colonel Baltazar lived in my house in a sea of pangs from Kursk and said, the Emperor fornication his wife. And he gave two badi butter for that, and two badi honey, and for that reason he, the Sovereign, granted Evo, Baltazar, to Kursk colonels and tenaciously told him, Mikhail, your faith is good, because de sovereignly, the emperor walks along to the Germans, and they are fornication, and to whom he goes to Germans for the fornication, he didn’t speak
