Santa Ines ( English Santa Ynez River ) - a large river on the central coast of California , USA . Administratively, it flows through the territory of Santa Barbara County . It is 148 km long [1] .

It originates in the territory of the Los Padres National Forest , on the northern slope of the Santa Ines ridge, near the border with Ventura County . It flows mainly in the western and north-western directions through the Santa Ines valley. Main tributaries: Mono Creek, Santa Cruz Creek, Kachuma Creek, Alamo Pintedo Creek, Zaka Creek (right) and Salsipuedes Creek (left). The catchment of the river includes the northern slope of the Santa Ines ridge and the southern slope of the San Rafael ridge, as well as most of the southern half of Santa Barbara County. The pool area is 2321 km² [2] . It flows into the Pacific Ocean near the Vandenberg Air Force Base and the city of Lompoc .
Water flow in a river varies greatly. Usually it almost dries up in the summer, but can turn into a stormy stream in the winter. The average annual flow rate is 4 m³ / s [3] . On the Santa Ines River, 3 dams were built. The largest reservoir - Kachuma, has an area of 1.3 km².
