General Information

The seeding of a single competition was headed by Kaya Kanepi (No. 124 in the world at that time). The 18-year-old representative of Estonia stayed at the tournament for only a couple of matches, and the title was won by two unfrozen athletes: Anastasia Ekimova and Emma Laine , where the 17-year-old representative of Belarus turned out to be stronger than the 18-year-old representative of Finland in three games. At the same time, Ekimova started the tournament with qualifications, where she lost in the final round and only later was admitted to the main draw when one of the previously announced tennis players refused to participate in the competition at the last moment. The strongest seeded left the tournament in the quarter finals. Last year's champion - Evgenia Linecka - did not defend her title.

The team of Daria Kustova / Elena Tatarkova (the then 141st and 49th rackets of the world) stood at the head of the doubles. The Belarusian-Ukrainian alliance on the way to the final only set, but in the decisive match could not cope with the unseeded team Maria Goloviznina / Evgenia Kulikovskaya , without taking the Russians and the set. Last year’s champions - Gulnara Fattakhetdinova and Galina Fokina - defended their title as second seeded, but lost to future champions in the quarterfinals.
