Etymology
The name Mamaika is the Russified Turkish name for the Mamai-Kale fortress at the mouth of the Psah River .
History
The building of the sanatorium of the Gorky Regional Party Committee in Mamaika
The first stone building on the territory of the present microdistrict is a Roman-Byzantine fortress at the mouth of the Psache river of the 1st-6th centuries. Now it is a well-maintained microdistrict with a boarding school, a supermarket, and a summer cinema “Yuzhny”. In the area of Mamaiki is a woodworking plant. In 1994 , a new automatic telephone exchange No. 90 for 3,000 numbers was commissioned.
