Vesela Straja ( Serbhorv . Vesela Straža , literally. “ Funny guard”) is a medieval castle town in Bosnia (modern Bugojno ), under the Bosnian king Tomasz served as a royal residence [1] . It is preserved in the form of ruins.

As the city was first mentioned in 1414 in a letter from the Hungarian Queen Barbara . It was located on the left bank of the River , in the medieval , south of the city of Bugoyno . It was located at the crossroads of trade routes leading from Dalmatia to the Vrbas river valley, and was an important trading center of its region. In 1450, the city served as the residence of the Bosnian king Tomáš . Vesela-Sentinel was mentioned during the robbery of a caravan of Dubrovsk citizens in 1456. In 1463, the Hungarian king Matthias I presented the city to the Bosnian feudal lord Vladislav Herzegovic . In 1478, during the conquest of Herzegovina by the Turks , Vesela Guard was captured. In 1483, Skender Pasha ceded the city to his son or stepson Mustai-run. The ruler’s castle was 45.5 m long and 10.5 m wide, with a wall thickness of about a meter [2] .
Thanks to archaeological excavations conducted here in the 1980s, it was found that a prehistoric settlement previously existed on the site of a medieval city. The “Old Town of Vesela Straža” is assigned to the national monuments of Bosnia and Herzegovina [3] .
