History
In 1984, Karl Haas signed a successful contract with Beatrice Foods for the performance of his team in the Championship Auto Racing Teams (CART) Indicar , as part of a successful agreement, Beatrice agreed to finance the team for the performance in the Formula 1 championship and purchase new Ford engines. The turbocharged Ford V6 engine was under development and the future team was the exclusive recipient for three years. As part of the announcement, former world champion Alan Jones announced his return after a three-year hiatus to manage the team's new car in 1985.
With good funding and new engines, Karl Haas began to create a team and organize a design team to develop a new car. Former McLaren manager Teddy Mayer became a co-owner of the project, and automated the team to set up his base at a former factory in Colnbrook, England, and also created Formula One Race Car Engineering . The design department was led by former chief engineer Williams, Neil Outley, engineer Ross Brown was also invited to the team.
Karl Haas was an official importer of cars of the British company Lola Cars International in the USA, and wished to associate the popular name Lola with the team. However, Lola did not participate in the project, and did not play any role in the design and construction of the Haas Lola team cars.
