Baku street track ( azerb. Bakı Şəhər Halqası ) is a city racing track in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku , which was built in the Baku coastal boulevard [1] . The Formula 1 European Grand Prix was held on this route in 2016 [2] , and starting from 2017, the annual Grand Prix of Azerbaijan is held .

History
2016
In December 2013, the head of Formula 1 Bernie Ecclestone said that in 2016, the Formula 1 Grand Prix will be held in Azerbaijan for the first time. In 2016, the European Grand Prix was held. The competition lasted 3 days 17-19
June. On the 17th, two workouts took place, each of which lasted an hour and a half, on the 18th there was 1 training and qualification race, and on the 19th the race itself took place. Seats on the podium were taken by Nico Rosberg speaking at number 6 from the team Mercedes , Sebastian Vettel speaking at number 5 from the team Ferrari and Sergio Perez speaking at number 11 from the team Force India . Pirelli brought Medium, Soft and SuperSoft to Baku, only SuperSoft were used in the qualification. [3] [4] At the end of each day of 2016, Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe hosted entertaining concerts. On the 17th, Chris Brown , 18 Enrique Iglesias , 19 Pharrell Williams spoke before the audience. [5] The Baku track was developed by German Tilke . The length of the circle was a little more than six kilometers, the movement along it occurs counterclockwise.
The track was final inspected in May 2016, FIA Director Charlie Whiting announced satisfaction with the new track [6] .
2017
2017 is the first year when Azerbaijan Grand Prix races were held in Azerbaijan. The race ran from June 23 to 25. The first place went to Daniel Riccardo , number 3 from Red Bull Racing , the second place to Walteri Bottas , number 77 to Mercedes , and the third place to Lance Stroll, number 18 to WILLIAMS MERCEDES . [7] The lap record in the Formula 1 race was set in 2017 by Sebastian Vettel - 1: 43.441. And the fastest lap on the highway drove Lewis Hamilton also in 2017, in the third part of the qualification - 1: 40.593. On June 23, the famous Turkish singer Tarkan performed in front of the audience; The Black Eyed Peas performed on the 24th; Nicole Scherzinger , and 25 Mariah Carey . [eight]
2018
In 2018, Azerbaijan Grand Prix races were held in Azerbaijan for the second time. The test took place from April 27 to 29. The first place was won by Lewis Hamilton, speaking at number 44 from the team MERCEDES , the second place was Kimi Raikkonen at number 7 from the team FERRARI , the third place was taken by Sergio Perez at number 11 from the team FORCE INDIA MERCEDES. By tradition, concerts were held at the end of each day. On the first day, Jamiroquai performed, followed by Afrojack . Saturday was introduced by Christina Aguilera , after which Axwell / Ingrosso spoke. And Azerbaijan Grand Prix ended with a concert by Dua Lipa and Martin Solveig . [9]
