Libera

The group performs classical and modern works in English and Latin , including Robert Praisman's own compositions. At the same time, the main direction of the group is the choral performance of church hymns and other songs on religious subjects, and the style and arrangement range from classical and Gregorian singing to modern styles such as New Age ^[1] .
Until 1999, the group was called "St. Philip's Boy Choir ”(“ St. Philip's Boys Choir ”) and“ Angel Voices ”(“ Angel Voices ”). The name “Libera” (lat. “Liberation”) the group began to wear after the performance of the song of the same name ^[1] .
In most cases, members of the group perform in white robes with hoods, similar to monastic cassocks ^[2] . During its existence, the group performed with concerts in the UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, the Netherlands, Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea, China, Singapore.
In Russia, Libera performed twice. The first concert was held as part of the festival of sacred music on January 18, 2015 at the Moscow International House of Music ^[3] . The second concert took place in the large concert hall Zaryadye on December 28, 2018 ^[4] .
In addition to concerts and participation in church services, the group is a frequent guest on television and radio in different countries, takes part in concerts and record albums of famous artists such as Paul McCartney , Elton John , Miley Cyrus , Meath Lowe ^{[5] [6] [ 7]} and others, and also participates in the recording of soundtracks for films ^[7] .

The main composition includes boys aged 7 to 16 years, who are recruited into the choir from different parts of London ^[8] . Despite the fact that the parish of St. Philip belongs to the Anglican Church , the administration of the choir does not impose any confessional restrictions on the recruitment of new members. Among the participants of the choir there are representatives of different faiths . Before being included in the main structure, most of the group members are included in the so-called. an expanded cast that does not tour and record albums. As a rule, these are the youngest members of the group under the age of 8 years. Traditionally they are called “mini boys”. Since the group is a children's group, its composition is constantly updated; the total number of participants is from 30 to 40 people.
