Career
Although Catherine's parents are former water polo players, Katya herself began her career in sports with volleyball in the Crimea. And only at age 13 she moved to water polo. She was brought to Chelyabinsk by her aunt, Honored Coach of Russia V.V. Verevkina . After the games in the junior team of Chelyabinsk in 2005, Yekaterina joined the Uralochka-ZMZ team from Zlatoust , and in 2006 she joined the Kirish team KINEF-Surgutneftegaz , in which she became the champion of the country 6 times. In 2012, she moved to Ugra . Bronze medalist of the championships of Russia (2013, 2015).
As part of the junior team, she became a three-time world champion (2005, 2006, 2007).
In the national team of Russia since 2006. Bronze medalist of the World Cup (2006). Winner (2008) and bronze medalist (2006) of the World League. Bronze medalist of the world championships (2007, 2009, 2011). European Champion (2006, 2008). Champion of the Universiade (2013).
She spent the 2011/12 season at KINEF-Surgutneftegaz and became the champion of Russia.
Married, husband - Sergey Lisunov - player of the Russian national water polo team .
