Background

The USSR State Concert and Tour Bureau “Soyuzkontsert” was founded in 1967 as a single all-Union center that carried out planning and coordination of tours of soloists and art groups in the territory of all the republics of the USSR . The preparation of the “Art for the People” holiday, which took place in various Union republics (on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of V. I. Lenin ), was the first event of the Soyuzkontsert. At the same time, a list of theater troupes, concert groups and performers was compiled, with which Soyuzkontsert subsequently worked. In 1980, Soyuzkontsert took part in the preparation of the cultural program of the 1980 Summer Olympic Games . ^[2]

After the collapse of the USSR, the successor of Soyuzkontsert was the Russian State Concert Company SODRUZHESTVO (1992), which carried out the preparation, organization and conduct of international and All-Russian events in the field of culture and art. ^[3]
