Biography
In 1955 he graduated from the Tallinn Conservatory (Professor Juri Variste). Since 1951, the founder and conductor of the children's choir at the Tallinn Palace of Pioneers (now the Choir "Ellerhein"). He developed a music education system using relative solimization (“Jo-le-mi”), based on the Zoltan Koday system. Since 1960, the head of children's choirs at the Singing holidays of the republic . Since 1955 he has been teaching at the Tallinn Conservatory (professor since 1977). The author of many choral songs. Since 2002, the Heinho Kaliuste scholarship has been awarded by the Composer Foundation .
The son of Kaliuste, Tynu (born 1953), also chose the profession of conductor.
